De Monte provides estate planning, elder law (long-term care planning for seniors), probate and trust administration services throughout metro Atlanta, GA.
De Monte draws his inspiration to practice in these areas of law in part due to his personal experiences with his maternal grandparents’ health challenges. In 1999, his grandmother was suddenly thrust into an intense six-month battle with colon cancer before she passed. During his grandmother’s illness, De Monte was actively involved in her daily care. In 2017, De Monte’s grandfather’s health gradually declined following a stroke and the onset of dementia. De Monte’s family collectively met his grandfather’s various needs until he passed in 2019. Through these personal experiences, De Monte has gained first-hand knowledge and understanding of the concerns and challenges that many caregivers, individuals, and families encounter when caring for a loved one.
Compassionate and caring, De Monte enjoys helping clients and their loved ones understand the issues they face when difficult situations arise. He recognizes that every person and circumstance is different, and he will take the time to help work towards the best possible solution. De Monte’s expertise also includes the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and trusts.
Additionally, De Monte is passionate about providing underserved communities with needed legal services and educating various groups about estate planning and elder law issues. Over the years, De Monte has volunteered to counsel and provide free legal services for low-income and terminally ill individuals. De Monte has also conducted many educational workshops with families, churches, community organizations, retirement groups, and caregivers about the importance of planning to protect themselves and their loved ones.
De Monte earned his law degree from Seattle University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. De Monte is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, American Bar Association, and Lawyers With Purpose (a national organization of estate planning and elder law attorneys).
